5Very slim, elegant Titanium watch from SkagenSep 27, 2008
By M. Burrows
I purchased this watch at an airport duty-free shop because I had forgotten my other one. I have owned this watch for about 6 months now, and have had zero regrets with the purchase, to the extent that my Lacroix has taken the backseat.
Many people first recognize the elegance of its design by noticing the highly reflective blue bezel and then how very slim the watch face is. The watch is still reasonably uncommon and many ask about the brand and ask for a closer look. Inevitably, I end up releasing the hidden clasp and letting them feel how incredibly light this is to. The next question is the obvious "How much?" to which I say check out Amazon! :)

12 defectiveJun 14, 2010
By Matthew Robbins "Matt"
This watch was a birthday present to me from my girlfriend, though I was the one who meticulously picked it out on Amazon after looking through about 1,000 watches. My criteria was that it be thin, made of titanium, have a blue dial, and be water resistant for when washing your hands. First let me say this watch is more beautiful in person than the pictures show. The blue face reflects a lot of light making it stand out as a very expensive watch while not looking "flashy." Also, it is extremely light (being made of titanium), and with the thin profile if you have it adjusted to fit firmly around your wrist you'll forget it's there (compared to a traditional heavy stainless steal dress watch). I was convinced by the pictures, the specs, and the other positive reviews to ask for this model. Unfortunately, when I got it there were several minor defects in a few of the hour markers on the face of the watch. My understanding is that these are technically called "burs" and can occur when metal is cut. I was willing to accepet this fact as they were not apparent unless upon very close inspection. However a day or two later I discovered there was a hair under the crystal of the watch that could move around. I never determined if it was human or some thin piece of plastic from the manufacturing floor, but this was completely unacceptable. At that time Amazon was out of stock on this watch and because it was a gift they had to issuse me a gift credit for the purchase amount. I watied a while and about 3 months later (last week) I ordered the exact same model as a replacement (like the first, this one was also directly sold and shipped from Amazon). When I opened it last Thursday I again found minor imperfections in the metal hour pieces on the face, though fewer blemishes than before. At this point I was satisfied and had the watch adjusted and began wearing it. The very next day I was washing my hands and I ran the watch under the faucet to clean the finger prints off the crystal. Several hours later I looked at the watch and discovered the watch face was fogged up and there were water bubbles under the crystal. Clearly, there was an opening around the battery compartment or where the crystal is sealed to the titanium casing that water was able to enter. I'm returning this product and I will not be getting a replacement nor will I ever buy another Skagen watch. Also, despite the helpfullness and willingness of Amazon customer service to correct these issues, I will not purchase watches directly from Amazon again because I cannot be sure they are recieving quality shipments from their distributors. Things like this shouldn't happen with a watch that MSRP's for close to $200.

2Poor DurabilityMay 09, 2010
By C. M. "wishin for more"
I've gone through 3 of these watches and had to send each one back. Twice for water issues and once for the band latch mechanism falling apart. I love the look, thinness, and weight of the watch. It's unfortunently that it isn't water resistant as it states it is.

5Amazingly thin watch and lightweight watchDec 13, 2011
By Seth
At first I was reluctant to get a watch, I'm used to just checking the time on my phone. But the Skagen watch is so thin and lightweight, you don't even notice you are wearing a watch. It's a great looking watch without being overly flashy. I've gotten several compliments on it, and people are always amazed when they hold it in their hands and can see how thin and light it is. The battery has lasted about 2 and half years so far without any issues, and its very easy to change the time on it. Just a word of warning, when ordering online, the watch doesn't come sized to your wrist. Unless you have precision watch adjustment tools at home, expect to spend about $10-$15 at the mall to get it sized.

5Beautiful watchMay 28, 2010
By Cherise Takiguchi
I purchased this watch for my boyfriend for our anniversary, and he loves it. It's very slim and sleek, and the face is beautiful. I didn't realize that it didn't have a hand to count the seconds, but I think it's still an excellent looking watch for business and casual business attire. The band was also easily adjustable once we figured out how to do it. Great purchase.
