5What a Great Watch!Oct 11, 2011
By R. Tucker
My Brother has a Luminox watch that he's had for 12 years now, it's not this one but very similar. Recently he just replaced the battery for the first time which amazed me. He talked to me how durable his watch was so it made me very interested in buying a Luminox. I did my research and I found the Luminox 3152.BO Stainless PVD Watch, which looked beautiful with it being a Blackout. I have had it for one month now and I do not regret buying this watch a ounce. The quality is hands down tremendous; my two year old son already dropped it, not a scratch. I also love how it glows in the dark; it is really bright but not so bright where it will keep you up at night if light bothers you. I highly recommend this watch to Luminox fans and people who are looking to buy a quality watch. Worth every penny.

3Ok, but better watches available for less.May 17, 2012

I just received my new Luminox 3152 BO. I wanted to write an in depth review because I was not able to find such anywhere on the Internet. Please keep in mind I have only owned this watch for a few hours. So actual reliability is something I will not touch on.
This is my first Luminox watch. But the watch had several features that intrigued me.
First the watch is called a "Black Out" watch. The face of the watch is black. The Arabic numbers on the watch are also black. This makes it hard to see the numbers under normal light conditions. However they do have what Luminox calls "Night Vision Tubes" at each 5 minute increment. The "Night Vision Tubes" are also on the hour, minute and second hand. During normal lighting situations, these "Night Vision Tubes appear to be white in color. In low light situations, the hour, minute, second hand and numbers 1 - 11 appear to be blue in color. The 12:00 position appears orange in color. (This helps orientate the watch in low light situations)
These night vision tubes are not very bright and appear no brighter than a typical watch with illuminating hands. (The type you stick under a lamp to charge) But apparently you do not need to stick the Luminox under a light. Luminox states these Night Vision Tubes are supposed to be good for 25 years.
The day calendar is at the 3:00 position and numerals are also in white.
The case is made of stainless steel as well as the band. Both are black and the watch feels substantial in weight. I am a fairly large guy and was worried that the watch band may not fit. The watch came with all the links set at the longest position and it did just fit.
The bezel rotates in one direction only. This is so if you bump the bezel,....it will show that you have less time left on your dive VS bumping and thinking you have plenty of time left. (Seems pointless as I do not know anyone whom does not use a dive computer anymore.)
The crown was the area of my concern. Once unscrewed it just did not feel well built. It felt like a decent pull and it would fall apart. However, once the time and date are set, and the crown was screwed back down, the crown did feel secure.
Setting the date and time was very basic. However my watch seemed to have a hiccup. I pulled the stem to the first stop and set the date to the day before actual date. I then pulled the stem out all the way. I had to pass the 12:00 position three times to get the date to change to the current date. (Should only have had to go past 12:00 two times at most.) I have purchased Citizen watches for the past 3 decades. The overall mechanics of this watch do not seem to have the quality of a similar Citizen watch.
I suspect that the back of the watch may be the reason that this watch sells well.
On the back of the watch case is engraved the navy seal trident. This might give the "cool" mind set to the watch. And the watch might have been given away at some ceremony to some Seals. Or it might make a decent duty watch. But with no bezel cover and the "night vision tubes" glowing, (Though not much of a glow) I would expect this watch would not be used in the field.
Overall this might be a cool watch. But I paid almost $400.00 for this watch. With the mechanics of this watch feeling rather like a $100.00 watch, I would not purchase again. I have a few days to decide whether I am going to return this watch.
So I will take a few more days, before making that decision. I will update this review if anything else come to light.

5A watch Zorro could wear.Apr 20, 2012

Great Watch. Everyone that sees it likes it. I own ten watches, including a Luminox Blackout with a rubber band, that I really like. But the 3152.BO / metal band is even better. I like the metal all black band, that goes well with the blackout watch.
