Great military watchJun 17, 2009
By Santiago J. Otero
"Army Major"
I usually don't review products but I'm compelled to write one about this watch. As a watch collector and a Soldier with two combat tours in Iraq, I know what a good military watch looks like. This watch is an excellent companion to wear in combat and it looks good enough for casual wear. I wore the Traser version on my last tour as well as a Marathon GSAR. Those watches are now confined to my safe as I wear this watch more often than I do my other watches. It is light weight, rugged and macho looking, easy to read at all times and of course it lights up like a torch a night.
What's to like about this watch? First, it is 200 water resistant. That's more than enough WR to withstand any water usage. Second, the case construction (PC/Carbon) is the best making this piece very lightweight. Third, you have to love the color combination. Orange is the international color for emergency/distress and it is very well executed in this piece without overwhelming the watch or making it look like a "fashion watch."
I like this watch so much that I ended up buying the white version (3051). At first when I read Luminox's claim that their watches are used by SF guys, Navy Seals and law enforcement officers I thought to myself, what a gimmick. But now that I own two I can tell you that it is indeed a very practical and though watch that will serve you well either you serve in the Armed Forces, are a law enforcement officer or are a spirited and adventurous civilian.
To close, I have another Army buddy that have one of the original navy Seals watches. He has wore his on two tours in Iraq and has beaten the heck out of it and the watch looks good and has withstood the harsh environment of the desert. Don't hesitate to buy this watch. You will only regret it if you don't get it...

poor qualityJun 25, 2009
By J. Schley I'll start with the good-- it keeps great time, light weight for its size, and excellent visibility, especially at night. I like the style.
The watch that I purchased was apparently defective and was not watertight. I sent it for warranty service within the first month of purchasing it, and it was repaired and returned. It has not shown any signs of the problem since (no fogging of the crystal). The band is low quality and the pin holding the clasp broke under normal use. I still need to get this fixed.

Bad watch and fogs up when divingMar 29, 2009
By Robert Webster

I purchased this Luminox colormark orange when they first came out. I was really excited about the looks and functioinality. The first time I was able to use it for diving it was a miserable failure and fogged up the whole time I had it in the water. I would not recommend this watch at all. It is advertised as a military multi use navy seal type watch and it is basically only for looks. I talked to my watch dealer who sells these things and they said if the crown does not screw down then do not use it in the water. The crown does not screw down on the luminox colormark so potentially that could be the problem. It would be so bad if the watch was not advertised as a durable heavy use diving and military watch but it is and this is a big problem. The watch is not cheap either so for 200 bucks you should get a lot more. You would be better served buying a different brand if you are going to have this thing in the water a lot.

Excellent Luminox watch!May 09, 2010
By S. Grow This particular watch is an awesome gift for everyone. The actual time peice is quite amazing, with a slight rugged look, bright and visible, it can be read from across the room, and it is also just as visible at night, if not even more so and it is perfect for anyone that wants a luminox, but not military grade. I have owned the Orange Colormark watch for nearly 6 months now, and so far I have seen only one downfall: the crystal. Don't get me wrong, this is one extremely tough watch. It has survived work, pallet jacks, and soon basic training, but the crystal (Because this is a more "budget" friendly watch) is only a mineral crystal, and I put a deep scratch into mine when I hit one of the science lab tables (The solid black slab tables) when we had a fire drill and it hit the corner. But that is what it takes to hurt this watch. Mine has been beaten and abused, and the casing shows no sign of it. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone who is looking to get it. But for those of you who are in the military, police, or enjoy torture testing their watches, I would recommend you invest in the Luminox Titanium series or one of their other watches with a Sapphire Crystal (The only thing that can scratch sapphire is diamond, and you wont accidently hit your watch on many of those).
