The chronograph timing function includes 60-minute, 12-hour, and independent second-hand subdials, as well as a center sweep 1/5-second hand. It also has a reset button that instantly returns all the chronograph registers to zero. This large, round watch has a thin, flattened bezel with an exterior tachymeter reading in gray. The patterned silver dial face is accented by black subdials, and it offers gray luminous Dauphine hands (with seconds hand) and a date function at 4 o'clock. The stainless steel bracelet band is joined by a fold-over deployment clasp. Other features include a screw-back case, screw-down crown, scratch resistant mineral crystal with anti-reflective coating, and water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet). This watch is powered by Citizen's unique Eco-Drive, which absorbs sunlight and any artificial light through the crystal and dial to recharge the watch continuously. With regular exposure to light, the Eco-Drive continuously recharges itself for a lifetime of use. This watch's Eco-Drive provides a 240-day power reserve, and it can be recharged with just 3.5 hours of exposure to light. | | | Features: | |

Love My Ctizen Calibre 2100Sep 05, 2005
By Connecticut Swamp Yankee I picked up my Citizen Calibre 2100 about two months ago and I absolutely love it. I opted for the one with the black face since I found it a bit easier to read.
The watch itself is quite substantial. It has a real solid feel and appears to be very well built. I have taken the watch into pools and the ocean on several occasions (though never to any significant depth) and have yet to see any kind of water intrusion. Just make sure the bezel is fully locked down!
The watch itself looks magnificent. My father has a Breitling Navitimer and I think this watch looks every bit as good as his. Yes, I know it's not a Breitling and it's like comparing a Volkswagen to a Bentley, but I've always liked the look of the Breitling and I think Citizen does a good job capturing that look with the Calibre 2100.
The "Eco-Drive" on this watch's designation means that it is solar powered. I find this to be a very nifty feature. I have yet to see the power meter dip below full charge, though it is summer and I am wearing short sleeves a lot.
I highly recommend this watch.

A quality product and very versatileApr 19, 2006
By Gene Kosobuski This watch is perfect for just about any use. Rugged, classy, practical, very, very stylish for everyday use but yet still perfect for dress occasions. I've owned Citizen Eco Drive watches before and they are truly quality products: durable, reliable, and reasonably priced.
This watch defintely has the "WOW" factor and I would not hesitate to HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. A Lexus quality product for a Toyota price.

A real Man's Watch!Aug 01, 2006

I got this watch for my husband for our 9th anniversary. I think he has told me "I love my watch!" at least 2-3 times a week since he got it not quite a month ago. It has a good weight, keeps excellent time and has several other useful functions. It has glow in the dark hands that one can actually read in the dark! I highly recommend this watch. My husband had been looking at this watch for some time and did a lot of research before choosing this particular timepiece.

Nice enough watch, but scratches easily!Oct 15, 2008
By T. Fisher I bought this watch on the strength of the positive reviews at Amazon, but I am really somewhat disappointed.
The positives are well explored here by other reviewers. It is an attractive watch that actually looks a bit more expensive than it is. The eco-drive feature is a must for me as I enjoy a watch I can swim, snorkel and scuba-dive with, but I have lost more than one waterproof watch by changing the battery and having the seal broken. I was always assured by the watch shops changing the batteries that the watches would still be waterproof, but two nice watches have bitten the dust this way for me. From here on in, swimming watches will only be automatic or solar -- no more batteries! That's one reason I was so excited about this watch from Citizen.
My biggest disappointment is that the crystal scratches way too easily. I have very unattractive scratches on the watch now, and I can't find any jewelers willing to polish or buff them out. I don't abuse my watches, but I am a person who is clumsy and careless enough in his everyday locomotion to need a scratch-resistant crystal. They say this watch has one, but it is not nearly scratch-resistant enough compared to other watches I have owned. I would rather have paid $50-75 more and gotten a really good scratch-resistant crystal.
The second problem is with the stopwatch. After I had the watch about six months, the stopwatch stopped working. I would press the buttons and nothing would happen, and this went on for about a week. Just as I was figuring out how to send it in for warranty service, it started working again, and I figured sending it in working condition wouldn't do me any good. I am waiting to see if it goes on the fritz again.
Overall, I have been disappointed in the watch, perhaps because I had high expectations. If it didn't scratch so easily, I would really like it a lot. I can live with the stopwatch problem as I rarely use it, but the scratches really mar the appearance.

Beautuful timepieceDec 24, 2007
By S. Edmunds This watch is gorgeous, sophisticated, and the craftsmanship is 2nd to none. If you want a watch that is on par with a Omega or Breitling but don't want their price tag, this is the watch for you.
