Best watch band for Basic G shockDec 10, 2010

I have owned nothing but G shock watches since I was 18 years old and in the Army. I love the watch because it has every feature I need and nothing that I don't. Unfortunately the band is usually the first and only thing that breaks. Typical off the rack replacement bands are usually crap. I always buy the original band for the watch.

By W. R. Schorie I was going to buy a new watch because the band broke on mine. I have had this watch for over 5 years till the bank broke. After reading the reviews about not buying the non-genuine replacement band, I am glad I did buy this genuine one. Sure,it took some time to get the pins to snap back in but once they did it fits like the original. Now I can enjoy wearing everyday for many more years to come.
OEM Casio DW5600E replacement watch bandOct 05, 2011
By zenithnadir Ultra quick delivery, 3 days coast to coast. A bit of a pain to replace. Take the 4 screws out first, much easier to remove and replace band this way.
Could be better!Aug 09, 2011
By Liriodendron This is the replacement watch band which you've been looking for everywhere. Replacement watch bands are becoming increasingly difficult to locate, and I was really pleased to find this one easily available on Amazon. After some fiddling with pins I could barely see, the band snapped into the watch, and I am back in action. The larger and more important question is 'why do I need a replacement watch band in the first place?'. I need it because the vinyl bands on all Casio watches crack after 1-2 years and fall apart (failing long before the watch itself dies). Surely a more durable band could be designed? More plasticizer could be added in the chemical formulation of the vinyl, or nylon mesh could be embedded in the vinyl matrix (think rebar in concrete). The problem has been around as long as digital watches, however, and shows no sign of being fixed. I conclude that Casio is mainly concerned about appearances at the time of sale and cares nothing about long-term functionality of their product.
